  • During your first counseling appointment, you can expect to have a confidential and safe space to discuss your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. You will meet with a trained counselor who will listen to you and help you explore and understand your experiences and challenges.

Counseling appointments typically last between 45 minutes and an hour. During the session, the counselor may ask you questions about your life, your goals, and your challenges to help you better understand and address the issues that brought you to counseling.

It is important to remember that counseling is a collaborative process, and you should feel free to ask questions and express any concerns you have about the process. The goal of counseling is to help you feel better and make positive changes in your life.

  • The length of time that a person spends in therapy can vary widely depending on their individual needs and goals. Some people may only need a few sessions to address a specific issue, while others may choose to continue therapy for an extended period of time to work on longer-term goals or deeper underlying issues.

In general, the frequency and duration of therapy sessions are determined by the therapist and the client based on their needs and progress. Some people may attend therapy once a week, while others may choose to go less frequently, such as once every other week or once a month. The frequency of sessions can also change over time as progress is made and goals are achieved.

It is important to keep in mind that therapy is a process and it may take some time to see progress. It is also important to remember that therapy is not a one-size-fits-all approach, and what works for one person may not work for another. It is important to be open and honest with your therapist about your needs and to work together to determine the best course of treatment for you.
